Myosótis

The Myosótis Lodge, which is part of the Grande Loja Legal de Portugal / GLRP (Grand Legal Lodge of Portugal), wishes to contact all regular lodges around the world that share the name Myosótis (“Forget Me Not” or any other translation) or symbol.
The aim is to identify and promote twinning between all lodges that have this characteristic in common, creating a worldwide network.
This project, supported by the Grande Loja Legal de Portugal / Grande Loja Regular de Portugal (GLLP/GLRP) and personally by its Grand Master, MRI Paulo Rola, aims to strengthen fraternal ties between Brothers from different points in the World, promoting ritual, spiritual and human exchange between Lodges inspired by this symbol deeply rooted in the history of Freemasonry.
The Grand Master of the GLLP/GLRP, MRI Paulo Rola, welcomed the proposal with enthusiasm, emphasising its potential to strengthen the international ties of the GLLP/GLRP and give concrete expression to the ideal of Universal Brotherhood. In this regard, he stated:
‘It is in symbolic actions such as this that Freemasonry fully lives out its principles: memory, fidelity, courage and unity among Brothers.’

The Flower of Memory and Resistance
Myosotis, or ‘Forget Me Not’, is more than a delicate flower: it is one of the most moving emblems of Universal Freemasonry. During the Nazi regime, at a time when Masonic work was banned and severely persecuted, the flower became a secret symbol of silent resistance.
German Freemasons – and also many Jewish Freemasons – discreetly used the Myosotis as a sign of belonging and loyalty to the Order, at a time when freedom of conscience and Masonic values were the target of brutal repression.
The blue flower was thus a silent gesture of courage, reminding us that the Light may be veiled, but never extinguished. It became a symbol of living memory, peaceful resistance and unwavering fidelity to the principles of Liberty, Equality and Fraternity.
Today, the Myosotis remains a universal emblem that unites Brothers of all times and places – a reminder that true Freemasons never forget each other, even in the darkest hours.
May the Forget-Me-Not continue to bloom not only on our aprons, but above all in the hearts of the Brothers — as a reminder that nothing is lost when there is memory, and no one is forgotten when there is true Fraternity.
