Fellowship in Freemasonry

Fellowship in Freemasonry

By: Dušanka Perić

An exploration of fellowship in Freemasonry as a sacred principle, emphasizing equality, brotherhood, shared values, and personal growth. The piece reflects on unity, symbolism, mutual support, and building a fairer society beyond the lodge. It presents fellowship as a living covenant that strengthens individuals, bridges divisions, and helps humanity create a harmonious future together through dialogue, compassion, responsibility, and hope.

Since time immemorial man has been looking for a place where he will be accepted, supported and understood.

Fellowship is not just a gathering, but a deep connection of souls who share the same ideals and values. Precisely in Freemasonry, fellowship rises to the level of a sacred principle, which shapes both the individual and the entire community.

In the lodge, we all meet as equals. It doesn’t matter what nation we belong to, what religion we profess, or what social position we have.

It is important that we work together on ourselves and each other, in order to build a better and fairer world.

The compass and the protractor, those eternal symbols, remind us that measurements, harmony and balance must be the foundation of every relationship with others.

And joint work and learning erase the differences that the outside world imposes.

Fellowship in Freemasonry is not passive. It is alive, dynamic, and requires constant readiness for understanding, forgiveness and support.

Learning through brotherhood, we discover that one man’s strength multiplies when shared with others. And in times of trial, brotherhood becomes a pillar on which each of us can lean.

But, brothers and sisters, our fellowship does not remain closed within the walls of the lodge. It transcends its borders.

That togetherness is a guide on how to build bridges in society, how to nurture tolerance and how to contribute to peace.

In a time of division and conflict, we testify with our existence and actions that togetherness is an eternal value and the strongest foundation on which a brighter future can be built.

Fellowship in Freemasonry is not just brotherhood. It’s a covenant. A vow that none of us walk alone. A pledge to seek truth through dialogue, and strength through unity.

In the silence of the lodge, while the light illuminates the symbols and faces of the brothers and sisters, the realization is born that each of us is just a stone in the great temple of humanity.

And only when those stones are united into a harmonious whole, then a building worthy of eternity is created.

Take care dear brothers and sisters, because only with common concerns and commitment can we contribute to a better community.

Dušanka Perić was initiated into Freemasonry on 07.12.6025 A.L., marking the beginning of a symbolic yet deeply personal journey toward the Light—a path dedicated to self-knowledge, responsibility, and inner refinement.

Since 6025 A.L., she has served as Worshipful Master of the Women’s Lodge Pillar of Wisdom, Orient Belgrade, operating under the auspices of the World Union of Sovereign Lodges Libertas 5775. In this capacity, she bears full responsibility for the Lodge’s work, harmony, and continued growth.

As Worshipful Master, she stands as a pillar of trust, wisdom, and stability for all Sisters of the Lodge. Her role extends far beyond administrative leadership; it embodies encouragement, spiritual guidance, and a steadfast commitment to fostering harmony and purpose within the Masonic Work.

She is recognized as the first woman in Digital Freemasonry, symbolically uniting the enduring values of the Craft with a modern, open, and technologically conscious vision. Through this synthesis, she seeks to preserve the essence of Masonic tradition while guiding its thoughtful evolution in alignment with the spirit of the contemporary world.

Her Masonic path is deeply infused with humanistic ideals. She advocates for the dignity, well-being, and worth of every individual, viewing Freemasonry not only as a path of personal development but as a powerful force for building a more just, compassionate, and enlightened society—one in which knowledge, solidarity, and Light are shared selflessly.

As a devoted and committed Sister, she dedicates herself to the Work, to symbolism, and to the strengthening of human bonds within the brotherhood and sisterhood. She holds that the true strength of a Lodge resides in unity, trust, and collective effort.

With her gaze firmly oriented toward the future, Dušanka remains devoted to building bridges between Tradition and modernity, between the wisdom of the past and the possibilities yet to unfold.
