From the Editor

Welcome to the 2020 Annual issue of The Square

our curated pick of articles from throughout 2020

Aside from the difficulties faced by us all since the beginning of what has been a very long and turbulent year, it has been an exciting one for us at The Square – we launched our first digital-only edition in April, just as the rest of the world was either in lock down, or in compromised circumstances.

It was great to feel that we were able to contribute something to Brethren worldwide just as lodges were having to close, or at the least rethink how they would continue.

Over these past nine months we have had some incredible contributors, both from well-known writers and those whose work we have been delighted to showcase for the first time.

We are so pleased to be able to reach readers across the world – Freemasons from all jurisdictions and obediences – and to share the knowledge and talent of our writers.

We’ve been inspired and we hope you have – and will continue to be!

The creative layout of the Annual (and monthly editions) designed by our in-house team mean you can skip from article to article easily via the links – this will allow you to discover cross-linked articles by subject and/or author.

Discover new voices, books and ideas, and explore insightful and exciting subjects all with a connection to Freemasonry – and key to your advancement in Masonic knowledge.

Enjoy your visit down the Masonic rabbit hole and do feel free to share!

Best wishes,

Philippa Lee
